• Key functions & working principle

Working Principle	1. Priming Initiation: When the pump lever is pulled upward (suction stroke), the diaphragm expands, creating a vacuum in the pump chamber. The inlet valve opens, drawing fuel from the tank through the fuel line/filter screen into the chamber.
	2. Fuel Delivery: Pushing the lever downward (compression stroke) compresses the diaphragm, increasing pressure in the chamber. The inlet valve closes, and the outlet valve opens, forcing fuel out of the pump into the fuel lines/high-pressure injection pump.
	3. Air Purge: Repeating the lever stroke displaces air from the fuel system (air exits via bleed screws on the fuel filter housing or injection pump) until a steady stream of fuel (no air bubbles) flows out – indicating the system is fully primed.
	4. Pressure Retention: After priming, non-return valves keep fuel in the lines (preventing air re-entry) and maintain low pressure, ensuring the engine starts smoothly.
Core Functions	1. Air Purging: Removes air from fuel lines, filter housings, and injection pumps – air locks cause hard starting or engine misfires, so this is critical post-maintenance/fuel depletion
	2. Fuel Priming: Fills the low-pressure fuel system with diesel fuel, eliminating dry starts that damage high-pressure injection pumps
	3. Emergency Priming: No electrical power needed – enables on-site priming in remote locations (e.g., construction sites with no power access)
	4. Low-Pressure Fuel Transfer: Can temporarily transfer fuel between tanks (e.g., emergency refueling in the field)
